Kelly Clarkson tipped her hat to Tanya Tucker on Monday’s episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show

The superstar served up a sassy cover of “It’s A Little Too Late” during the “Kellyoke” segment of the popular talk show, showcasing her powerful pipes and Texas twang.

“Turn the jukebox up throw some sawdust down/ I’m too far gone to turn this heart around/ I may be wrong but I don’t want out/ Well it’s a little too late to do the right thing now,” Clarkson sings while backed by her studio band.

Tucker released “It’s A Little Too Late” in January 1993 as the second single from her Can’t Run from Yourself album. The song reached the No.2 spot on Billboard’s Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart (now Hot Country Songs Chart).

This performance is one of several country covers Clarkson has shared on the show, including Billy Currington’s “Let Me Down Easy,” Faith Hill’s “It Matters To Me,” Pam Tillis’ “Maybe It Was Memphis,” Wynonna’s “No One Else On Earth” and Jo Dee Messina’s “Heads Carolina, Tails California.

Previous “Kellyoke” segments have featured covers of Blake SheltonJohnny Cash, Lady A, Rascal Flatts, Travis Tritt, Shania Twain, Carrie Underwood and Kelsea Ballerini (just to name a few).
