Luke Combs beat out country music heavy hitters Dierks Bentley, Thomas Rhett, Chris Stapleton, & Keith Urban to snag the trophy for CMA Male Vocalist of the Year.

Following a phenomenal performance that brought the room to its feet and also receiving Song of the Year for his single ‘Beautiful Crazy,’ the night was far from over for this CMA newcomer.

As his name was announced, the crowd cheered “LLLLLUUUKKKKEEE!!!!” in celebration with the teary-eyed artist.

“This is pretty unbelievable stuff.”, the artist shared as he held the award in his hand. “ I remember sitting on my parent’s porch when I was a kid and watching Vince Gill come up here and win this same award. I want to thank my team, my fans, and everybody in this room that inspires me every day, my beautiful fiance’ Nicole. Country music means everything to me, and this means everything to me and my family. Thank you guys so much, this is a moment that I will never forget.”

In 2017 Luke released This One’s For You and it sat at No.1 on the country music charts for a record-breaking 50 weeks and was certified double platinum earlier this year. Luke’s Beer Never Broke My Heart Tour has been going strong, performing for arenas full of fans in city after city.

While this was his first win for Male Vocalist of the Year, it’s clear to see that Luke Combs is the next great country music legend in the making.
